Bart’s activities have been recognized by his peers and students over the years.  In 1994 he was selected as the Anchorage Branch ASCE Engineer of the Year.  He has been listed at least five times in “Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers” and twice in “Who’s Who Among Engineers and Scientists”.  While serving on the ASCE Committee on Student Activities he wrote and coordinated the delivery of a National Faculty Advisor Training Workshop which gained some recognition.  As a result he was given special recognition for “exceptional contribution to the advancement of civil engineering education through leadership of the Faculty Advisor Training Workshop”, from the ASCE National Educational Activities Committee.
