CONSTREN
CONSTREN is a software tool for analyzing the strength of reinforced
concrete sections of arbitrary cross section using the principles of
strain compatibility and equilibrium assumed in ACI 318. The
current version of CONSTREN has been updated to meet the requirements of
ACI 318-05.
Some features include:
-
Analysis of sections of arbitrary geometry
-
The ability to determine the capacity for any
combination of biaxial bending and axial force.
-
Generation of 3D graphical representation of the
failure interaction surface and the ability to view the surface from
almost any angle.
-
The ability to check the capacity of the section to
support given load combinations.
-
Automatic generation of cross sectional and rebar
configuration for round and rectangular sections
-
The ability to store designs for later use.
The program was originally written in 1996 for use in
structural concrete design courses for civil engineers. It is still
being developed. The current edition expires in December 2010 (i.e. it will
not run after the expiration date).
If you choose to use this program, please realize that
this is (for all intents and purposes) a Beta version. Please email
